Being a local musician and creative, owner Mariah Gomez felt Odessa was missing out on the same events hosted in the bigger cities. She wanted to create a space where fellow musicians, artists, and creative people can share community and enjoy themselves.

Combined with the dream of owning a music venue shared by Joe Estrada, Soundwave Social was born. Joe & Mariah are owners of Sound & Space Studios, a local music studio, and while they do not own a music venue just yet, they have begun organizing events in the studio parking lot.
